NEW JERSEY — The New York Jets are willing to give cornerback Darrelles Bingham and safety Jaquiski Tartt a shot at playing cornerback, and are willing for the Bills to let him take the job if they’re willing to part with veteran safety Charles Woodson, sources told ESPNNewYork.com.
Both players were acquired in the offseason as part of the trade that sent former starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to the Bills.
Both are expected to compete for a spot in the starting lineup on a new team, and both are viewed as being in the same tier as veteran starters like Aaron Williams, Josh McCown and Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Tartt is an undrafted free agent who played in two games last season.
He played cornerback for the University of Miami in 2016, and he was part of a defensive unit that finished third in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Bingham, a second-round pick by the Jets in 2016 out of Eastern Illinois, was signed in September after spending his rookie season in Jacksonville.
He was signed by the Buffalo Bills in June.
Tight end Tyreek Hill, a former undrafted free-agent out of LSU, will be a free agent after this season.
